The Death Cure, by James Dashner

Synopsis
It´s the end of the line. WICKED has taken everything from Thomas: his life, his memories, and now his only friends - the Gladers. But it´s finally over. The trials are complete, after one final test. What WICKED doesn´t know is that Thomas remebers far more than they think. And it´s enough to prove that he can´t believe a word of what they say. Thomas beat the Maze. He survived the Scorch. He´ll risk anything to save his friends. But the truth might be what ends it all. The time for lies is over.

I always wondered what it would be like to find a new beginning for a humanity that chased its own destruction because of the hypocrisy and selfishness in its heart. How long could humans live for with a mentality of power that was always present throughout their whole history? How far would go their hearts to overpower their rationality? All these questions pop up in the minds of the Deth Cure´s readers. This is a dystopia and if there´s something I most like about them is how they bring us out of the box and to think of our roles in the world.
In the third book of the Maze Runner series, Thomas and his friends keep proving us how strong they are - and I don´t mean the strength we get for having muscles, but the one you conquer by being smart. They never gave up fighting against what they believed. WICKED proved to be lying and Thomas never doubted his remaining memories.
They are finally able to see what the world really looks like, how it is after the great catastrophe. The only possible ending for the human race is more destruction; the Flare is uncontrollable, and the resources that are left are being wasted in a cruel project which is far from finding a cure.
The truth is terrifying, and there´s no turning back now. Thomas and his friends are the only hopes, and it will take courage and humility from someone we wouldn´t expect it to come from - to save the human race. And far more than that, I can´t help but wonder: is it possible to find a new beginning for humans, if we still carry the same hearts and desires of power? Would it be a happy ending or just a different part of the cycle?
